British charcoal artist and printmakerMy work explores my surroundings and experience and I'm always aiming to evoke the feelings and mood of the place I'm in. I gather sketches, photographs and sounds and use these to develop work both outdoors and in my studio. I work experimentally, staying open to unexpected results, and follow these happy accidents wherever they lead. This helps me find perspectives that weren't immediately obvious.
I work in charcoal and pastel. I also combine printmaking processes to make layered images. I have an interesting time trying to keep the charcoal and the clean printing processes separate in my studio! I'm showing my work for the first time at Bucks Art Weeks in June 2021. |
